Gadolinium Oxide (Gd2O3) is a white, slightly magnetic, water insoluble powder, which is used in the creation of the phosphors used in television tubes as well as the creation of gadolinium yttrium garnets used in microwaves and materials used to absorb atomic reactions.Also used in ceramics and for scientific uses.
