Nice glass bead. Each one handmade of phosphate glass in our lab.
Doping glasses with Iridium is a very complicated task and several attempts failed due to the extremely low solublity of Ir in any glass matrix. Finally I was able to successfully produce some Ir4+ containing glass beads containing several mol% if Ir4+.
